3 Ways to Setup WiFi Router without Computer

If there is no computer available to you to install or setup your WiFi router, you still have three more ways to install it such as using your android phone, iOS or a wireless device like the modem. In this article, we will guide you on how to setup your WiFi router without using a computer. Below are three ways to set up your WiFi router without a computer:
 

Setup WiFi Router Using a Wireless Device:

You only need to connect your router’s preset wireless settings to your wireless device then do the configuration in the device for Internet connection. Do this in the following way:

  1. Connect the Ethernet cable from the cable modem of your industrial 3g modem to the Internet port of your WiFi router.
  2. Turn your cable modem on and wait until the lights become stable.
  3. Turn your WiFi router on and wait until the LEDs get stable.
  4. See the preset wireless settings of your WiFi router that is written at the bottom or at the top of your device.
  5. Open the WiFi connection manager on your wireless device, and take out the WiFi network name or SSID of your WiFi router.
  6. Connect to the SSID and fill in the password.
  7. Open a browser and type http://www.routerlogin.com or http://www.routerlogin.net.
  8. Enter the default username and password that is admin and password respectively and click.
  9. Follow the NetGear genie to configure the device.
  10. Then you will see a Congratulations page and for the confirmation that you are connected click on “Take me to the Internet”.

Setup WiFi Router with iOS:

  1. Turn on your router, and wait until the LEDs get stable.
  2. Turn on Wi-Fi under the Settings menu of your iPhone, you will see SSID or network name of your router there i.e. usually written on the back of your router. Connect to the SSID.
  3. You will be required to enter a password.
  4. Open a browser on your device. Type the IP address in the address bar. Usually http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 is default IP address.
  5.  If the IP address does not work download and install FING, then you’ll easily get the IP address i.e. written under the SSID of the network.
  6. You will be prompted to log in. Enter the default username and password that is ‘admin’ and ‘password’ respectively and click. You can find these at the back of your router, as the log in details are written there as well. And hopefully - you are connected to the internet. 

Setup WiFi Router Using Android:

 

  1. Turn on your router, and wait until the LEDs get stable.
  2. Turn on Wi-Fi under the Settings menu of your smartphone/tablet, you will see SSID or network name of your router on screen i.e. usually written on the back of your router. Connect to the SSID.
  3. You will be required to enter a password.
  4. Open a browser on your device. Type the IP address in the address bar. Usually http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 is default IP address.
  5. If the IP address does not work download and install FING, then you’ll easily get the IP address i.e. written under the SSID of the network. FING is available on Android & iOS for free.
  6. You will be prompted to log in. Enter the default username and password that is ‘admin’ and ‘password’ respectively and click. You can find these at the back of your router, as the log in details is written there as well. And hopefully - you are connected to the internet.
